Reading with Macular Degeneration

Do you or someone in your family suffer from a loss of vision due to macular degeneration? Has it stopped you from doing the things you have always loved to do, such as reading? If this sounds like you or someone you know than please know there may be options for you. Will you ever read as well as you did before you lost vision? Probably not, but can you read again? With the right motivation the answer to this is yes. Here are links to a few studies showing the effectivity of eccentric viewing training (training to help you learn to use the part of your retina that remains healthy).

If you have tried low vision devices to magnify things but they were unsuccessful you would likely have more success after training to use your retina more effectively!
