Lasik Co-Management

Are you a good candidate?

  • Find a surgeon with a good local reputation, with experience, and with the most up to date technology.
  • Don’t go discount shopping!  Although Lasik is a very common procedure, it is still a surgery.  You only get two eyes…don’t gamble with them.
  • We Co-Manage with TLC Laser Center in Albuquerque, NM:

What are the risks associated with Lasik?

    1. Vision loss after surgery that may or may not be corrected by glasses, contacts or an additional surgery.
    2. Vision problems such as glare, halos, and double vision.
    3. The procedure can leave you over corrected or under corrected which may require you to use glasses/contacts again afterward.
    4. Dry Eye – If your eyes are already dry, this may cause more symptoms. Managing your dry eye prior to treatment can give you better results and less discomfort after the procedure. Please visit the Dry Eye pages for more information.
    5. Once you reach the age where you are no longer able to focus like you did when you were 20 years old, you will still need some correction for reading.
    6. There is the possibility of having irritation or infection after the surgery.  The drops that are prescribed for you are really important to take as prescribed by your eye care provider.
