Dr. Tiffany Garcia Martinez, O.D.
Dr. Martinez is an Albuquerque native. She attended Albuquerque Academy and completed a degree in biology with a minor in chemistry at the University of New Mexico. Interestingly, her path to optometry started in pharmacology school. A visit to an optometrist for new lenses inspired her to make a change to optometry. She graduated from Ketchum University (formerly Southern California College of Optometry) followed by an additional year of residency training in Pediatrics and Binocular Vision at the University of Houston College of Optometry.
With a special appreciation for pediatric optometry, she worked with children with binocular vision problems and vision-related learning problems. She also broadened her experience by working with adult patients with vision impairments, newly acquired brain injuries, and soldiers returning from war with new ocular complications. Since 2010 she has also spent time working with the New Mexico School for the Blind & Visually Impaired (NMSBVI) to provide mobile clinics to low vision students throughout New Mexico.
Outside of the office, Dr. Martinez is married and has three children. She enjoys spending time with her family including playing soccer, going to the gravity park, the zoo, and the aquarium, and heading to the mountains whenever she can.
